This rhizomatous Dorstenia plant is commonly known as Dorstenia holtziana or Dorstenia volkensii. The stem is erect, leafy with a globose or tuberous shape; it is branched with an oblong or elliptical shape with tiny green or yellow triangular flowers growing on lateral inflorescences. The Dorstenia zanzibarica grows up to a height of 50 to 75 cm with a medium sun. This plant starts to bloom at any time, a few months after germination. It prefers a frost-free climate for proper growth.
