Also known as split rock or living stones, this one of a kind interesting looking plant belongs to the Aizoaceae family. The name Argyroderma comes from the Greek "silver skin". The member of this small genus come from the Namaqualand area of South Africa. They need a lot of sun to develop their silver color. Watering them can be tricky. They need little water in summer, and it is better to water them only if they are visibly shriveling. They should be watered only lightly the rest of the year. They can take cool temperature but should not be exposed to frost.
